This artifact shows that I can take a complex problem of recommending IT solutions to a business that was adding a new location to their network in support of the business goals and objectives of the business.  The recommendations covered a wide array of concepts necessary for setting up an infrastructure at a office location including LAN Topology, ISP providers, hardware and software, printer configuration, and teleconferencing; and address potential issues and how to mitigate and resolve networking errors.

This artifact outlines the structure of the training program which would include training manuals, instructor led and web-based learning such as live webinars and collaboration tools. It provides an explanation of those tools to management staff who might not fully understand their purpose or function. I have demonstrated my competency for coherent and professional writing while being able to relay IT-related concepts to non-IT individuals. 

By creating this artifact, I learned the significance of making a proposal to management of a business.  While completing this task, I stayed keenly aware of the target audience and made sure it was professionally written and clearly outlined the proposed plan.  This showed the the executives that I value the company’s time and aim to provide solutions intended to save time and resources. 

If I were to recreate this artifact today, I would have put more focus on creating online reference and training materials over paper-based and instructor led training.  

Support documentation is one of my responsibilities in my current career. Therefore, creating this item allowing me to demonstrate my knowledge and ability of managing training materials, communicating those materials to a wide audience, and working with senior leadership to get a buy in for the resources needed to generate the training materials.

This document is an Executive Summary written to provide an Executive Team a Summary of the implementation of a new email service and planned training.
